Four Sydney Youth Stamp Group (SYSG) stamp collecting workshops are held each year during the school holidays.
These sessions are designed for children seeking to enhance their enjoyment and skills in stamp collecting, and beginners are particularly encouraged to participate.

Bookings are required to attend.

Items children can bring

We understand beginners may not have some of these items, but do not worry, just come along.
Stamp Album, with or without stamps, Stamp Tweezers, Stamp Swaps, Lead pencil, coloured pencils, scissors, ruler, ballpoint or felt-tip pen.

Supervision

Full adult supervision is provided at the workshops. However any parents who wish to attend and participate will be made most welcome.

What activities are involved in a SYSG Workshop?

The SYSG stamp collecting workshops offer a variety of engaging activities tailored to the theme of the day. Children can enjoy a diverse range of experiences, including:

• Washing stamps off envelopes
• Making a stamp page
• Viewing a stamp display
• Games such as Bird Bingo, puzzles, and memory games
• Addressing an envelope
• Swapping stamps
• Quizzes, for example a stamp catalogue quiz
• Learning how to use a stamp catalogue to find information about the stamps
• Practising how to use stamp hinges to mount stamps onto album pages

Each Child receives a “Goodies” bag when leaving. “Goodies” bags contain approximately 12 collectible philatelic items.
